Team Fuji Taiwan 台灣富士自行車隊

Of all the elite-level teams in Taiwan, Team Fuji Taiwan (TFT) is the smallest in number. But what we lack in size is more than made up for with heart, grit and a true team spirit. In 2007, Team Fuji Taiwan won all the races that mattered on the island: the classic Huadong 2-Day Race, the Giant Cup (against Giant ART, a Continental Pro Team) and the Alishan Hill Climb. Along the way we picked up numerous wins and podium finishes. And we finished first (Chris Lintaman) and fifth (Tim Kao) overall in the preeminent National Club Series.

As if winning races weren’t enough, Team Fuji Taiwan also gained a reputation for being a tightly-knit team that trains hard, goes fast and has the most fun.

The team ran training camps and held a highly-regarded racing clinic. All team activities were publicized on the popular team web site, where sponsored products get a healthy does of promotion. Through our good relations with other media outlets, the team also gets frequent exposures on various web sites and publications.

Looking back on the amazing year 2007, we can truly say we have accomplished what we set out to do and much more. Everything we achieved we achieved as a team, and in the process we represented our sponsors with style and class unique to the Taiwanese cycling scene.

台灣所有的菁英自行車隊伍裡，台灣富士車隊（TFT）是人數最少的。但我們有的是膽量，決心和無私的團隊精神：這讓小小的 TFT 贏了今年台灣最大的比賽 －－ 花東，阿里山，捷安特盃。我們的隊員都有多次站上頒獎台。我們也再全國俱樂部聯賽取得精英組總成績第一(林德銘)和第五(高阿丹)。

TFT 不只會贏比賽，我們更塑造了認真，積極，快樂的健康形象。賽場下，我們不時集合在訓練營一起騎車，或為其他車友辦學習課程。隊上的活動不只由隊屬網站報導，我們也和台灣的自行車媒體保持良好關係：這都讓我們的贊助商有很多有效的曝光機會。

回顧這很棒，有點不可思議的 2007 年，我們可說超越了我們賽季前所定的目標。我們所有的成就都是，團隊合作，非一己之力所能達成的。在過程中， 台灣富士車隊也以獨特的風範為我們的贊助商豎立了良好的形象。

The goals for 2008 隊上目標

Repeating the success of 2007 is a daunting task, but we eagerly embrace this challenge. We are looking to do very well in all the major domestic races: National Club Series, Huadong 2-Day Race, Giant Cup, Alishan, and, for the first time as Team Fuji Taiwan, the UCI2.2 Tour de Taiwan.

The team, in its second year of existence, will also venture into international waters in 2008. We are planning to tackle the famed Mt. Fuji Climb in June, and the Tour de Okinawa in November. These are two of the biggest one-day races in Asia.

But Team Fuji Taiwan is more than about winning on the road. Rider development has been a central theme since the team inception. As Leo graduates into the elite ranks, we have added two developmental riders to the rank of four elite-level riders.

We are going to hold team training camps throughout the year. These camps have become a signature part of Team Fuji Taiwan culture, and a secret to our success: they not only provide opportunities for the riders to train together, but are also occasions for everyone in the TFT family — riders, support personnel (which consists of our dear spouses Xiaoyu, Annie and Vicky), sponsors and the team dogs — to bond, work and play together. As added bonus, the resulting pictures, videos and rider diaries generate much publicity for the team and our sponsors.

TFT will continue to reach out to Taiwan’s cycling community in general by holding two learn-to-race clinics. These clinics will be open to the public, and will focus on providing fundamental education to Taiwan’s rapidly-growing road-racing community. The first clinic we held in the June of 2007 was so successful that many participants are clamoring for more. The clinics will be a way for the team to give back to the cycling community.

The team will remain relatively small with 6 riders. We will win with cohesion, application and smarts. And we will do it with verve and joy.

要維持 2007 的水準不容易，但我們等不及有新的挑戰。TFT 要繼續參加國內所有大小賽事： 花東，阿里山，捷安特盃。我們也計畫第一次參加環台賽。

我們也會派出隊員比六月在日本舉辦的富士山大賽和十一月的環沖繩大賽。2008會是 TFT 第一次以隊的名義參加海外比賽。

但我們不會只以賽場上的成功為滿。培育下一代的年輕台灣選手一直是隊上的宗旨之一。除了隊上現有的四位菁英組選手外，我們今年有兩位有潛力的年輕好手加入隊上。

TFT 會不時的辦隊內訓練營。這些訓練營已成為隊上文化。訓練營不但讓大家有機會一起騎車，更是 TFT 家族 — 選手，工作人員 (就是老婆大人們小玉，Annie, Vicky)，贊助商，還有隊狗們 — 聚會陪養革命感情的好時機。每次訓練營出來的照片，video，日記都帶給隊上和贊助伙伴們很正面的宣傳效果。

除了車隊內部訓練營外，我們計畫為台灣的車友們辦兩個 learn-to-race clinic 學習比賽訓練營，目的是提供台灣廣大的入門車友們基本的公路車教育，也是隊上回饋車友大眾的行動。我們在 2007 年六月辦的第一個 learn-to-race clinic 廣受好評。

台灣富士車隊在 2008 還是以小而精的態度面對挑戰。我們不但要贏，而且我們要贏的有風格，有活力，更有喜樂。
